Cohesion policy in practice: Green energies for public administrations

Alternative ways of financing: Crowdfunding events in Graz

On 7 September 2016, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) organised a workshop on "Crowdfunding Opportunities and Best Practices in the EU" in Graz, Austria. The purpose of the workshop was to exchange views on the current state of crowdfunding across Europe with leading experts from all EU countries. They shared best practices on how to fully exploit the potential of this fast-growing form of alternative finance for SMEs.

List of SME Instrument evaluators published!

The list of evaluators who select the most promising projects for the SME Instrument has been published today. The list contains more than 1200 experts that have worked for us in 2015. Evaluators are categorised by nationality and topic. Publishing the list is meant to increase transparency and avoid conflicts of interest. This is of course part of a set of measures taken to ensure funds are distributed in an equal way. Are you an architect, engineer or building manager looking for energy efficiency training?

Life-long learning and knowledge sharing are at the heart of two EU-funded projects developing education and training programmes to upgrade the skills of building professionals. These include free and accredited e-learning schemes and a library of training material with over 100 000 entries among others. Both projects, namely, Meeting of Energy Professional Skills (MEnS) and the Open Training and Qualification Platform on Nearly Zero Energy Buildings Construction and Renovation (PROF-TRAC) are funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme with a budget close to 1.5 million euros each.

2016 European Social Innovation Competition awards ceremony

COSME guarantee agreement: EUR 100 million for Greek SMEs

The European Investment Fund (EIF) and the National Bank of Greece S.A. (NBG) have signed the first COSME guarantee agreement in Greece, benefiting from the support of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), the heart of the Investment Plan for Europe. The EU support will allow the NBG to provide EUR 100 million to over 350 small businesses in Greece, through the Investment Plan for Europe.

INNOREG: A Comprehensive Dataset on Government Policies Affecting Innovation
