On Friday the 21^st of February 2014, in the Auditorium of Events of the University of Macedonia ( PAMAK, Egnatia 156 ) in Thessaloniki at 10:30PM will be held the conference about "Youth Unemployment: Improving the Present, Ensuring the Future.” The conference is organized by the office of the European Parliament in Greece, in collaboration with the Representation of the European Commission in Greece, supported by the University of Macedonia and the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

On 07/02/2014, Mr. Johannes Hahn, the EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, paid a visit to the enterprise PET Central Greece SA. The visit to PET Central Greece SA was part of the Commissioner’s visit to 13 Greek regions that seek to ensure the efficient use of the Structural Funds, as they will be the main source of public investment for Greece for the new programming period 2014-2020.

SEVE and the Kurdistan (Iraqi) Union of Importers-Exporters signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday 11.02.2014. Mr. Pantelis Antar, an emeritus member of the SEVE Board Member and Mr Shekh Mustafa Abdulla, the President of the Union of Importers-Exporters of the Kurdistan Region-Iraq represented the two institutions for signing the MoU.

KEPA-ANEM, a partner of the Intermidiate Agency for the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship (EFEPAE) that is geographically responsible for the Region of Central and Western Macedonia, presents the publicity and information activities that it materialized during the second semester of 2013 (1/7/2013-31/12/2013). The executives of KEPA and KEPA-ANEM had an intense activity in Brussels during 20-24/01/2014. Specifically, KEPA and KEPA-ANEM participated in the 4^th workshop of the SEE Platform project for the Social Innovation that was organized during the 20-22/01/2014. They had meetings with executives of the European Commission and Members of the European Parliament and representatives from other entities, while they also took part in the event that was organized by KEPA in cooperation with the European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN), in Greek Embassy of Belgium.

On 18 December, the European Commission announced the provision of a fund of € 3.8 million to a consortium of 14 organizations, including KEPA, for the creation of the European Design Innovation Platform (EDIP).

The European Commission published today the 2012/2013 Annual Report on European SMEs. The Report on European SMEs is prepared on a yearly basis. It provides an overview of the size, structure and importance of SMEs to the European economy and their contribution to growth and jobs, as emphasised in the Small Business Act and Europe 2020 strategy. Comparisons with important partner countries outside the EU and with the large enterprise sector are also included.
