The long-term unemployed: the people that the economic recovery forgot?

The long-term unemployed (LTU) are those who have been out of work and searching for a job for 12 months or longer. The number of long-term unemployed doubled between 2007 and 2014, reaching 12.4 million people or 5% of the active EU population. This equals to around half of the total number of unemployed.  What is particularly worrying is that six out of ten of the LTU have been out of work for more than two years and their share remains at historically high levels.

EU Urban Agenda: new working methods to improve coherence of all EU policies on cities

The new European Urban Agenda should improve the quality of life in cities but also the EU governance. It is about developing new working methods, including partnerships and selective impact assessments of legislation. Online machine translation service available for all TED notices

Online machine translation service available for all TED notices

To increase transparency in public procurement opportunities, an online machine translation service will be available, free of charge, for all public procurement notices published in Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) from 15 January 2016. This service will be available from and to all 24 EU official languages. Automatic translations can be requested for any public procurement notice available in TED and will be made available shortly after the request is sent.
